Quality Matters in Office Chairs

It’s very obvious in our range of executive chairs and office chairs that we focus entirely on quality, ergonomics and comfort.   

It’s often said, “The quality will remain long after the price is forgotten”. (Henry Royce).  We have been selling office chairs with a focus on good ergonomic solutions for a very long time.   Back in the 90's and early 00's we had a couple of NZ based “manufacturers“ who used quality imported components and good fabrics to make really good office chairs.   Unfortunately, they have all closed now having become uncompetitive and have been replaced by imports.  There is no such thing as a New Zealand made office chair and the majority of chairs sold now are imports.

How long should a good office chair last?   Our Auckland office was recently renovated including new seating. In that office we have a couple of ergonomic office chairs that were installed when it was originally set up in 2002.  These both came from one of those good local manufacturers that are no longer are around.   Here’s a picture of one of them today still looking and working like new, as both of them are.  This is a great example of how long a quality product lasts.   That’s 20 years of service with zero wear.  Unlike a "warehouse" chair this won't go to landfill.

Most of our range of ergonomic chairs and executive chairs are now made in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland with a few selected products from Asian manufacturers. And we are very selective with the Asian product making sure they have top quality components we can trust to last.  I can count on one hand the number of the European chairs we have sold that have required after sales service   Indeed we are now occasionally asked for compatible parts for some European office chairs bought in the early 90’s!  

If you are looking at some of our chairs and wondering if they are good value, just think about the time you will spend in the chair.  In some cases, it can be as much as you spend in your bed!   Your comfort while you work is critically important.
