With over 35 years of selling office chairs in New Zealand, we have experienced a lot of customer behaviour when buying an office chair. And having sold chairs from showrooms as well as online – we think online shopping results in better research and decision making.
Most business buyers we have encountered will sit in a chair for about 15 seconds to decide if they like it or not. Of course, first they must like the look of it which should be lower in the list of what is important. It’s not a good strategy, as the comfort will depend 100% on how the last person had the chair adjusted. If it’s too high or the back set too far forward, they won’t like it for instance.
Personal shoppers spend more time, they try all the adjustments and look to find out as much as they can about the office chair from the salesperson, who will only be as good as their experience or perhaps their motivation to sell a specific product. Few will be able to speak from experience of the long-term performance of the chair.
The truth is, we can pretty much make most office chairs fit any average build person, but what that doesn’t reveal is the quality or longevity of the product. It’s clear when you look at our product range that we focus on quality, ergonomics and comfort. We know what office chairs work and what office chairs fail and why they fail. That’s why you won’t find many of the mainstream brands on our website. There’s a host of chairs that look good online but have no information o support their quality.
So, if you are buying online – check out the brand online, either by their website or via videos on Youtube, there is a lot of information out there. As most of our ergonomic and executive chairs come from Europe, the story behind them is always one of research, innovation and striving for the best quality outcome. And of course, beautiful design. With some research done you will feel pretty comfortable about the quality of these products, and I can assure you that we don’t put these chairs online without being 100% sure of their comfort levels. Many of the European chairs have won design awards and all have EU quality levels.
Long term comfort comes from two things – the quality of the foams and upholstery used and the movement that the chair offers the user. You will notice that many of our chairs are upholstered in 100% New Zealand wool fabrics, these keep you warm in winter and cool in summer and wear incredibly well as being easy to clean.
Everyone has a different story why they need a new office chair – particularly for Home Offices. Send us a message and we will call you back and have a chat about your specific needs. We have a 100% satisfaction rate with anyone who tells us their story and we make a recommendation of which chair will suit.
